Avionics and Vehicle Fiber-Optics and Photonics Conference (AVFOP)

Santa Barbara, CA – November 10-12, 2015

General Photonics demonstrated the upgraded PXA-1000 (Distributed Polarization Crosstalk Analyzer) at the IEEE AVFOP conference. The PXA-1000 characterizes polarization maintaining fiber coils, such as those used in fiber optic gyros (FOGs). The instrument helps gyro manufacturers reduce their test and assembly costs and improve quality.

The AVFOP conference is an application-oriented international forum for researchers, engineers, and manufacturers that facilitates discussions on the deployment of photonics-based avionics and sensor systems in harsh environments.

The November meeting was held at The Fess Parker Hotel and Conference Center in Santa Barbara, California. Attendees were offered over thirty technical presentations and over 25 vendor exhibits.
